Learning to Use it

Information about learning to use Enquire Within®, an interactive software application based on the Repertory Grid interview.

The Enquire Within tool is a content-free analytical engine which can process information on any topic you want to address. Learning to use Enquire Within involves understanding how to choose the building blocks for the topic and purpose you have chosen for the current session.

To make this easy for you, the full version of the software is provided with a comprehensive help system which includes:

  • Tutorials
  • Pre-prepared practice sessions for loading into Enquire Within
  • Introduction for Human Resource Professionals
  • Introduction for Marketing and Consultancy Professionals

There is a great deal of learning material on this web site which can be accessed from our Contents page, including:

  • Tutorials in the form of packaged units being added to progressively. They are in the form of self contained units dealing with various aspects of using the Repertory Grid interview and Enquire Within and can be downloaded as required for ongoing reference.
  • Some Resources for Understanding Repertory Grid
  • Hints on the application of Repertory Grid
  • Background material on George Kelly and repertory grids on the Personal Construct Psychology site

Just as you probably had to invest some time in learning how to use a spreadsheet, or a database, you will need to spend a little time learning how to use Enquire Within. Most people find that after three or four hours with the tutorial material they are able to understand Enquire Within, use the prepared sessions, and configure some sessions for themselves.

On the other hand, learning to use Enquire Within could take a lifetime. Once you get to understand its range and depth you will probably be finding new variations, and new uses, which will stretch the limits of your imagination. Some configurations can become addictive. We make no apology for that; we believe that parents would rather have their children addicted to programs which develop thinking skills than many other uses for the home computer.
